What are your hours of operation?
Our Manhattan location is open from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm Monday through Friday, and 8:00 am to 5 pm on Saturday. Our Hackensack location in open from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday. Both locations are closed on Sunday.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept American Express, Mastercard, Visa & Discover, as well as checks, money orders or cash. Please see our Vitals section under Contact Us.
What payment plans does Hallak offer?
Clients who use our service with high frequency, and do not want to reconcile numerous smaller charges throughout the month, can opt to have their entire month’s cleaning charges billed to a credit card as a single lump sum. A summary statement is mailed detailing all activity and the final amount charged to the credit card.
How do I set up Hallak’s free pick-up and delivery at my home?
Call Hallak Cleaners at 888.343.2111 during regular business hours, and a representative will be happy to make the necessary arrangements. You can also print out a Temporary Receipt to include with your order. After hours, you can use our online pickup request form which can be accessed by clicking here. Request a Pickup Online
Once service to your home is set up, what happens next?
You may decide with our Office Manager what type of delivery service and frequency you need: once a month, once a week, or two or three times a week. Our driver will come to your door, or items may be left with your doorman or other building staff in the special silver laundry bag provided by Hallak. You will be provided with “Temporary Pickup Receipts” to keep control of the items you are entrusting to our care, as well as communicate other special instructions to our staff. These numbered 2-part forms (place one in the bag woth your items, and keep one for your records) are cross-referenced with your delivery invoices. You can also print out your own Temporary Receipt that will be numbered as soon as they reach our location. You don’t need to rely on your memory or our efficiency to know that all of your items have been returned – instead you have the benefit of clear documentation. While we at Hallak Cleaners try to maximize convenience and minimize rules and policies, we strongly encourage the use of these forms.
What type of bag do I use to put my clothes in for pick-up?
We provide our regular clients with special personalized laundry bags. However, items may be left in any other reasonably secure packaging for our driver. If using a shopping bag, we recommend taping or tying the handles together. When using plastic bags be careful that they are not left in a package room or closet where they could be mistaken for a bag of trash (especially if the bag is opaque). If our driver comes directly to your door, he will have an empty pickup bag with him, and you may simply hand him your belongings.
What happens if I go on vacation or there is a national holiday on the day of my pick-up/delivery?
You have several options. You can speak directly with your driver, or you can call our customer service department to reschedule your pick-up/delivery while you are on vacation. Hallak observes 7 national holidays and when the holiday falls on a weekday, Hallak will pick-up/deliver the next possible day.
What do I do if I have a special request?
If you have a special request, we will do our best to fulfill it. You can either indicate your request using our “Temporary Pickup Receipt” or write a note and place it in your laundry bag. You can also print out a Temporary Receipt. Of course, you may always speak to one of our customer service representatives who will make sure that your needs are accomodated.
What if I have a question about my invoice or statement?
Call us at 888.343.2111 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and ask for the Billing Department. They will assist you with any questions you may have.
Will I be informed of the cleaning costs prior to processing?
As a first time customer, you will receive a courtesy phone call advising of the prices before processing begins. Going forward, only items that require extra labor or additional processing will initiate a phone call for price approval. Another option is to set a threshhold to trigger pricing notification. If this is something you are interested in, please speak with your customer service represenative.
How is the privacy of my personal information maintained?
At Hallak Cleaners, we value our customers’ privacy. To begin with, while it is tempting to offer the names of high-profile and celebrity clients (as many drycleaners routinely do) we never share that information with the press or with other clients. All personal information is used strictly to provide services to our clients. Personal information is never shared or sold. All paperwork which makes any reference to a client’s credit card information, address or phone number is systematically shredded. Our client data and our company data are housed on secured, dedicated Unix servers. All of our web content and web activity is hosted on separate servers and are not connected to our company network.
