The family-run business was started by Joseph Hallak, a native of Marseilles, France. His old-world passion for perfection is a fine heritage that enables the state-of-the-art operation to focus on quality, attention to detail, and special care.

Today, the company is headed by President Marie-Louise Hallak, sons Joseph, Jr. and John-Claude. The Hallaks lead a dedicated staff of exceptionally well-trained, service-oriented, and seasoned professionals.

The cornerstone and single-most important component of gown preservation is the cleaning process itself — which requires an exceptional cleaner. Hallak Cleaners is renowned for its unique processes and capabilities. In fact, the company opens its plant regularly to visitors who come from Japan, Europe, and all over the world to observe operations.
     
The U.S. Department of the Interior has called on Hallak to restore period garments for the Museum at Ellis Island. The company has also handled antiques for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in addition to many other museums throughout the country. Today, Joseph, Jr. and John-Claude continue their father’s passion for perfection and improving the industry. They are founding members of Leading Cleaners Internationale, an organization of leading United States, Canada, and Australian cleaners, and they are active members of the International Drycleaners Association and the International Fabricare Association.

As was his father, Joseph is President of the National Cleaners Association and is a member of the board of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists. John-Claude is a member of the board of directors of the Northeast Fabricare Association.
